    Job Title: Excavator Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Excavator Operator to join our team. Our company specializes in commercial and residential excavation, grading, and utility installation across Central Pennsylvania. With a commitment to excellence, we deliver precision and reliability on every project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in main line utility excavation and be proficient in operating safely in deep trench environments.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate hydraulic excavators to dig utility trenches for main lines at varied depths.

    + Set up and work with trench boxes, shoring systems, and stone sleds.

    + Safely dig around existing utilities and follow engineered plans.

    + Read and interpret site grades and layout markings.

    + Support the crew with related site work and other equipment when needed.

    + Conduct daily equipment inspections and report issues promptly.

    + Maintain a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and productivity.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience as an Excavation Operator.

    + Valid Driver's License.

    + Experience in main line utility excavation and deep trench environments.

    + Ability to read grade stakes and site plans.

    + Versatility in operating additional equipment such as dozers, skid steers, and loaders.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators in utility trenching.

    + Experience working in trench boxes and deep excavation (10+ feet).

    + Familiarity with stone placement and sled usage.

    + OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred; additional safety training is a bonus.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
