Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency. The role requires the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation, while working collaboratively with other technicians to address and resolve equipment issues.

Responsibilities

+ Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment.

+ Communicate effectively with individuals or groups, verbally and in writing, including customers, suppliers, and associates.

+ Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.

+ Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and external Input/Output (I/O) devices.

+ Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.

+ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, such as lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electronic and electrical equipment.

+ Diagnose refrigeration and electrical problems using technical drawings, such as blueprints and electronic/mechanical schematics, and diagnostic tools like multi-meters and laptops.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and schematic troubleshooting.

+ Experience with blueprints, compressors, PLCs, and PLC troubleshooting.

+ Ability to perform preventive and electrical maintenance.

+ Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.

+ Mechanical troubleshooting and programming skills.

+ Knowledge of robotics and automated systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Coursework or certification in electronic technology with 2 years' experience in industrial maintenance specializing in electronic technology, including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment.

+ Alternatively, 3 years' experience in industrial maintenance specializing in electronic technology.

+ Preferred: Associate's Degree in electronic technology and 2 years' experience, or 10+ years of relevant work experience.

Work Environment

The work schedule is B1, from Saturday to Monday, 5:00 am to 5:30 pm, totaling about 34 hours a week. The role involves working with substances that require special handling, exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and wet, damp, or drafty conditions. The position requires moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, working at heights, and spending extended periods both indoors and outdoors. The work environment may also involve high noise levels and requires the ability to navigate narrow, enclosed, or elevated spaces.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minooka, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.95 - $35.95/hr.
