Job Title: Shipping Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Join our team as a Shipping Operator on the 2nd shift, where you will play a crucial role in managing order selections and processing for an electrical wiring distributor. This position requires maintaining an orderly and clean warehouse environment while adhering to safety procedures and operating warehouse equipment efficiently.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain the warehouse in an orderly and clean state.

+ Follow all safety procedures and perform daily safety inspections of warehouse equipment before use.

+ Receive and process incoming material in accordance with warehouse management system (WMS) processes.

+ Accurately identify, break down, and note discrepancies in material.

+ Prepare orders for shipping, including selecting, checking, and packing UPS orders.

+ Follow WMS processes for packing, weighing, manifesting, palletizing, and loading.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with picking and using RF scanners.

+ Proficiency in operating cherry pickers and material handling.

+ Knowledge of inventory control and paper processing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Understanding of material handling and packaging.

+ Experience in staging orders per order tickets.

Work Environment

This role is based in a traditional warehouse environment, with some exposure to seasonal temperature changes. Safety shoes are mandatory, and safety goggles and gloves may also be required. The position requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds and the freedom to walk and move freely. The 2nd shift operates from 12 PM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of RICHMOND, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
