    Description

    The Logistics Manager is a key position that manages and administers the procurement of materials, supplies, and services with the objective that they will be available at the time, place, quantity, quality and price consistent with the needs of the Company.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Provides for the procurement of all goods and services, and give functional direction to others who perform duties for purchasing and logistics.

    2. Initiate and maintain effective and professional relationships with suppliers.

    3. Ensure that supply chain management is consistently increasing the number of alternative suppliers for all business units on a global scale by utilizing a 3-bid system.

    4. Daily review and follow-up of expected receipts, entry of orders into the system, and delegating work among the staff as required.

    5. Forecasting and reporting of non-ACP, MRO, and raw material “B” and “C” items.

    6. Review and monitor departmental budget, and strategic estimates and projections for both operating and capital requirements.

    7. Plans and monitors receipt of inspection of materials, inventory control, physical inventory procedures, cycle counts, and the movement out of inventory in a manner effective to company operations.

    8. Responsible for the commercial, administrative, and legal part of the procurement process.

    9. Oversee the initiation and implementation of long term strategic procurement plans in accordance with established corporate policy and guidelines.

    10. Provide assistance and support in selection and procurement functions and logistics functions directly associated with the Company’s needs for direct/indirect materials and services.

    11. Provide guidance and direction for departmental operations, schedules, and expedited deliveries of materials and services.

    12. Constant liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers.

    13. Other duties as assigned.

    SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of Resource Management as it relates to Made-to-Order, low volume, high complexity production.

    • Strong scheduling abilities with all work cells to ensure optimum efficiency.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; listening skills; and attention to details.

    • Ability to interact well with people, build strong rapport, establish trust and credibility.

    • Ability to mentor and teach new applications or techniques as required.

    • Ability to keep suppliers aware of business objectives and purchasing strategies.

    • Ability to prioritize and manage a continuously changing, fast-paced environment.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    MATHMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and complete statistical analysis using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to develop and interpret numerous graphs.

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in all situation

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
