Job Title: Trim Technician

Job Description

As a member of the Shop Team, you will work in both the receiving section and assembly section of the facility, splitting your time equally between the two. This position involves technical repairs, reading assembly guidelines, and reassembling interior and exterior components of vehicles.

Responsibilities

+ Diagnose and mechanically fix issues with vehicles.

+ Read and follow assembly guidelines provided by OEM service engineers.

+ Reassemble interior components and ensure proper fit and finish for exterior components such as doors and trim.

+ Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles with a keen eye for detail.

+ Document any additional issues found and inform the Team Leader/Manager promptly.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

+ Perform data entry and keep records of services and equipment used.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical repair and maintenance skills.

+ Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting expertise.

+ Experience with mechanical blueprints.

+ Basic automotive experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.

+ Ability to lift 5-50 pounds throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ownership of a basic tool set for working with nuts and bolts.

+ Willingness to transfer to the Auburn Hills location once the new facility is open.

+ Reliable attendance with a positive track record.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with customers about vehicle issues and repair processes.

+ Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

+ Enjoys working on personal vehicles during downtime.

Work Environment

Technicians will have dedicated workstations with all necessary tools readily available. The facility is spacious and kept very clean. Although not temperature-controlled, it remains comfortable with fans and vents to maintain normal temperatures. At the end of each shift, technicians are responsible for cleaning and organizing their workstations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
