    Job Title: Safety Director – Infrastructure Project (Contract-to-Hire)

    **Location:** New York City, NY

    **Pay Rate:** $55–$60/hour

    **Placement Type:** Contract to Hire (6 months)

    Position Overview

    We are actively seeking a highly experienced **Safety Director** to lead safety operations for a major infrastructure project in New York City. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in MEP systems and public transportation environments, who thrives in high-impact, fast-paced settings.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Develop and enforce site-specific safety programs in compliance with OSHA and local regulations.

    + Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

    + Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

    + Provide safety training and guidance to field teams and subcontractors.

    + Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting.

    + Collaborate with project leadership to ensure safety is prioritized across all phases.

    Required Qualifications

    + **10+ years** of safety leadership experience in **Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP)** environments.

    + Prior experience in **rail, train station, or airport operations** .

    + Strong working knowledge of **OSHA** , **NYC DOB** , and other regulatory standards.

    + Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

    + Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or related technical field.

    + Safety certifications such as **CHST** , **CSP** , or **OSHA 30/500** .

    + Experience working with union labor and public sector projects.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
