Position Summary
The Sr. Manager of the UM Centers of Excellence (COE) is a contributor to successfully managing critical projects assigned to the UM COE that solve business challenges and support the development of new sources of value within Aetna’s Clinical Solutions business unit.
+ Evaluates, designs, and implements new regulatory and/or business initiatives for Utilization Management from initiation through completion.
+ Partners cross-functionally to identify business needs and develop solutions and tactics to drive process improvement.
+ Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage those resources, budgets, risks and changes.
+ Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
+ Tracks progress against key milestones and creates and implements value-based metrics and analysis to measure outcomes.
+ Contribute to a motivated work environment by working collaboratively and effectively with key stakeholders across Health Care Business and Aetna Clinical Solutions to achieve common goals.
+ Foster a culture that accelerates our strategy through our Heart At Work Behaviors by keeping the customer and colleague as the central focus
Required Qualifications
+ 7+ years of experience in healthcare in a role that involves strategic problem solving and/or new product development (e.g., consulting).
+ 7+ years of demonstrated organizational skills (e.g. project management experience or managing cross-team/department initiatives with demonstrated success).
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively communicate key messages to executive leaders and internal/external stake holders.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to deliver presentations to senior leadership team members.
+ Strong data and analytics skills to include modeling, synthesizing information and deriving key insights.
+ Strong understanding within clinical and health plan operations and value creation methodologies including Utilization and Policy Management, Care Management and Coordination, Quality, Compliance and Regulatory Management.
+ Successful experience in strategy, innovation and/or portfolio management within healthcare industry.
+ High ability to consistently produce and create value and meet/exceed committed performance.
+ Effectively lead and motivate teams to ensure high standards of performance and outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Demonstrated relationship management skills at the senior level; capacity to quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of the organization simultaneously.
+ Demonstrated leadership with relevant initiatives: Business process, enterprise business project strategic planning and analysis, risk management, public health, process improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma certification) management/consulting.
+ Demonstrated superior business process, project management.
+ Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change in complex organizations.
+ Experience with enterprise-wide and/or cross-functional large scale initiatives with high degree of complexity.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Master's Degree preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$67,900.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
