Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing semi-trucks and trailers, including Western Stars and other models. With a growing fleet of trucks, you'll perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring each vehicle is road-ready.
Responsibilities
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.
+ Perform repairs on intakes, radiators, air conditioning compressors, oil pans, steering gears, tie rods, alternators, and chassis.
+ Conduct tire and brake changes, as well as brake chamber replacements.
+ Handle bodywork on trailers, including trailer tail/rear fairing, mirror replacements, antennas, windows, fifth wheels, mud flaps, and differentials.
+ Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 12 volts, including HVAC, windshield wipers, and lighting.
+ Perform aftermarket engine treatments, diagnose engines, and manage emissions on Freightliner and Volvo trucks.
+ Utilize MIG welding and fabricating skills as needed.
+ Use basic computer skills for logging progress and sending emails.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience.
+ Proficiency in engine diagnostics, diesel maintenance, and trailer repair.
+ Ability to replace tires and change brakes.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for email communication and spreadsheet updates.
+ Valid driver's license; company will assist in obtaining Class A & B License.
+ Familiarity with insight and Detroit software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with hydraulics, wiring, and air brakes.
+ Knowledge in blueprint reading and welding.
+ Capability to conduct preventive maintenance and transmission repair.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
- Weekly Bonus (based on production) from 0 to 50% of their weekly production
- Yearly Profit sharing (this based on the candidates overall pay from the year before. For the past six years profit sharing bonus was at 25% of their overall year end salary)

- Tuition reimbursement
- Vacation after 6 months. Will get 5 days
- OT after 40hrs
