A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of a Pharmacy Technician at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

+ Arrive at work in the morning - no night shifts here!

+ Prepare and compound sterile IV admixtures, including chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications, under aseptic conditions in a cleanroom environment.

+ Accurately measure, mix, and label medications according to established protocols and prescriptions.

+ Assist in maintaining proper inventory of compounding supplies, medications, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

+ Perform cleaning and maintenance of IV hoods, cleanroom, and ante-room in compliance with USP <797>/<800> standards.

+ Maintain detailed and accurate records of all compounding and preparation activities.

+ Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous drugs safely and in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

+ Support the pharmacist in ensuring the accuracy and sterility of all compounded products.

+ Adhere to all facility, state, and federal pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.

+ Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments related to aseptic and hazardous drug handling.

+ Strives to create The Iowa Clinic Experience with each interaction.

+ Leave in the evening – hooray for working standard clinic hours.

This job might be for you if you have…

Licenses/Certifications

+ Certified Pharmacy Tech required.

Qualifications

+ High School diploma or equivalent required.

+ Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training Program.

+ IV Chemotherapy experience within the Pharmacy Tech role preferred but not required.

+ Highly motivated to work in a healthcare setting.
