THE POSITION
Douglas County IT Department
Full time position available with competitive full-family benefit package, PERS/OPSRP retirement and availability of deferred compensation retirement savings.
Onsite (Courthouse complex) childcare available at a discounted employee rate through Roseburg Professional Childcare (Fowler St. location only). Availability is subject to center waitlist.
Position requires incumbent to be available for an on-call rotation working nights/weekends.
Job Summary:
This position performs complex technical duties that involve design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of networks and systems deployed throughout the County and the departments within the County
Essential Functions:

+ System administration, including server virtualization, Windows Server Operating System support and hardening, system upgrades, monitoring and troubleshooting, patching, and maintenance
+ Administer enterprise SAN storage for provisioning, performance, and capacity
+ Manage system backup and recovery jobs, monitoring, and restores.
+ Manage Active Directory domain services, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, and Intune
+ Document infrastructure, procedures, and changes

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities required, will be considered. however, the following is preferred:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and two years progressively related experience in network and/or systems-related analysis, design, installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of: Thorough knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field is required. Depending on the level of responsibility, the incumbent will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Skill in : Developing, adapting, modifying, testing, documenting and operating applications programs; system-level programming. Ability to : Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; obtain appropriate information and analyze needs of user department and translate needs into automated system solutions; integrate vendor-supplied software into County systems; reason logically when analyzing data and developing computer systems and programs; utilize problem identification and resolution techniques; make decisions independently in accordance with established policy, establish new policy when applicable, and use initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities; remain calm and use good judgment during confrontational or high pressure situations; work within a team concept; plan, organize, schedule and monitor projects; prepare clear and concise documentation; courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees, vendors and the public.

+ At time of appointment, must possess valid Oregon drivers license

SCREENING & EVALUATION
