Role Overview
We are seeking a **Sterling File Gateway Engineer Lead** to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role to design and verify the Sterling File Gateway solution meets business and technical requirements and is in compliance with enterprise architecture guidelines, technology standards and methodology. You will maintain and manage the SFG application design, including but not limited to monitoring performance and capacity metrics, Standard Level Objective (SLO) and Standard Level Agreement (SLA), resiliency and disaster recovery plan for ETS.
Work Arrangement
+ This is a 100% remote position but you must live in the EST or CST time zones
Responsibilities
+ Perform technical feasibility analysis; understanding what can be done with a realistic assessment of complexity of our File Transfer (SFG) environment and maintain a robust application
+ Design and implement best practices that promotes ease of maintenance, ease of extension, high reliability, simplicity, and optimized performance
+ Actively participate in project discovery and planning work
+ Assist File transfer Engineering team to resolve issues found in testing
+ Categorize file transfer jobs into categories that meet SFG and ACFC standards and can be assigned to Sterling File Gateway (SFG) templates. The template will then be modified as necessary for each file transfer job
+ Mentor Managed File Transfer team in SFG best practices
+ Develop and document an integrated test plan for certification of net new jobs design in compliance with SFG best practices
+ Mentor application resources on how to integrate net new file transfer request with SFG
+ Provide assistance to IT Infrastructure Operations initiatives as needed
+ Demonstrate thought leadership and act independently under very general direction
+ Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Education and Experience
+ BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent business experience in a related field
+ At least eight to ten (8-10) years of experience with IT Operations file transfer
+ At least ten (10)+ years of expertise with **IBM’s Sterling file gate B2B suite and IBMs Control Center (ICC)**
+ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly
+ Find and report bugs for SFG application and push to resolution
+ Experience in patching and maintaining a critical application
Other Skills
+ Demonstrated hands-on experience architecting, designing, building, and installing Sterling File gateway B2B suite of products
+ Demonstrated operating system experience with UNIX, Linux, Wintel and programming skills. Advanced UNIX scripting and Java development a plus
