Job Title: Production PlannerJob Description
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating and releasing production work orders using ERP systems based on demand, inventory goals, and planning parameters. You will generate capacity feasible production schedules, monitor and report on manufacturing attainment to the production schedule, and expedite as required. You will manage MRP data to optimize output and continually improve scheduling methods and practices to achieve inventory, production efficiency, and on-time delivery goals.
Responsibilities
+ Create and release production work orders using ERP systems.
+ Generate capacity feasible production schedules and monitor manufacturing attainment.
+ Manage MRP data to optimize output and improve scheduling methods.
+ Assess the impact of engineering change orders and execute changes as required.
+ Resolve inventory transaction issues and support process improvements.
+ Review completed jobs for material usage accuracy and close jobs in ERP.
+ Coordinate and release purchase orders for selected materials from pre-determined suppliers.
+ Perform limited site-specific purchasing activities related to facility services.
+ Assist with special projects such as new product ramp-up plans and efficiency improvements.
+ Communicate across departments to meet customer delivery goals and internal planning needs.
+ Provide timely updates to management on planning, scheduling, and purchasing activities.
Essential Skills
+ Schedule planning and inventory management.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems and production scheduling.
+ Experience with material planning and inventory control.
+ Knowledge of purchasing processes and Microsoft Excel.
+ Strong understanding of production planning and supply chain management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 4-year degree in business, engineering, or accounting preferred.
+ 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience with sheet metal or assembly preferred.
+ Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and basic inventory practices.
+ Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel.
+ Understanding of BOMs, routings, and multi-level manufacturing flow.
+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability.
+ Ability to organize and manage multiple changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite from Monday to Thursday, with working hours from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM in a manufacturing environment. The position offers great growth potential in a dynamic company.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
