    We’re looking for a Product Designer, eager to explore and define the world of creator experiences and creator tools within Minecraft.     Responsibilities

    + Partner directly with internal teams and external partners into help drive for the best creator experiences in the industry. Act as a technical design expert - handling all aspects of producing prototypes, defining best practices and sharing knowledge.

    + Develop innovative solutions to visual problems and workflows. Use your passion for learning, implementing and sharing the very latest innovations in real-time graphics and games systems.

    + Help bridge communication by partnering with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to help develop roadmaps, implement solutions and provide feedback across disciplines.

    + Work closely with teams to evaluate project status and milestones.

    + Leverage relationships within internal teams and creator community as well as other parts of Microsoft, bringing new approaches and technologies to our games.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications** **:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Art, Writing, Behavioral Science, Data Science, Game Design, or related field AND 2+ years experience in game development and design, systems design, content production, or related field OR Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Art, Writing, Behavioral Science, Game Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience in game development and design, systems design, content production, or related field

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + Experience collaborating with engineers and producers to develop user experiences.

    + Experience working with or developing creator tools, platforms, or services that enable user-generated content or creative workflows and/or experience with game engines or creative platforms like Unity, Unreal, or proprietary game editors.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Communication skills.

    + Demonstrable experience with commercial engine environments like Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unity3D or equivalent game development tools.

    + Knowledge of scripting and application APIs.

    + JavaScript programming skills for tool authoring/simple engine modifications.

     

    Game Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
