We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead with deep expertise in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) to drive Vanguard’s digital marketing and customer experience transformation. This role uniquely blends hands-on engineering capabilities with strategic architectural leadership, making it ideal for someone who excels in both technical execution and cross-functional collaboration.

As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, data-driven solutions using Adobe Experience Cloud tools—particularly AEP, AJO, Real-Time CDP, Adobe Launch, WebSDK, and Adobe Target. You will also lead the integration of technologies such as Kafka, AWS services (including Lambda, S3, and ECS), and MarTech platforms to enable and scale personalization across digital channels. Your work will support real-time personalization, audience segmentation, omni-channel journey orchestration, decisioning, testing, and performance measurement.

This role involves close partnership with architects, product managers, and MarTech teams to ensure that solutions effectively bridge business and technology needs. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, foster a culture of technical excellence, and promote best practices in development, testing, and deployment.

Responsibilities:

+ Partner with product and engineering teams to design and implement omni-channel personalization capabilities utilizing a combination of technologies and MarTech platforms that meet Vanguard business, IT, and enterprise security requirements

+ Bridge business & technical requirements to provide a cohesive, seamless solutions to perform at scale.

+ Lead the implementation of Adobe Experience Cloud components, including RTCDP, Adobe Launch, WebSDK, and Adobe Target.

+ Develop and integrate APIs (REST, GraphQL) and custom solutions using JavaScript, Python, Java, and SQL.

+ Maintain knowledge of the latest MarTech and marketing technology platforms to drive business outcomes and support next level digital marketing needs.

+ Demonstrate deep expertise in AEP data ingestion, segmentation, activation, and integration with Adobe Experience Cloud tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Target, Campaign).

+ Apply knowledge of XDM schemas, batch and streaming data processing, and audience segmentation within AEP.

+ Leverage Adobe SDKs (WebSDK, MobileSDK) and the Adobe Edge Network to enable real-time personalization.

+ Use tools like Adobe Launch and Google Tag Manager for web data collection and campaign execution.

+ Apply modern engineering practices including DevOps, test automation, TDD, and Site Reliability Engineering.

Qualifications:

+ 10+ years of professional IT experience

+ 3+ years of cloud development and delivery, specifically AWS and Azure

+ 3 to 5+ years hands on experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Real Time CDP and/or Adobe Audience Manager

+ 3 to 5+ years hands on experience with tag management tools (ex. Adobe Launch, Tealium, Segment), web data layers (Web SDK, Mobile SDK) and digital data collection schema definition (XDM preferred)

+ Technical background in omni-channel marketing or personalization with demonstrable hands-on experience

+ Strong process knowledge and orientation to deliver business outcomes in a cross-functional environment

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

+ Experience in leading and organizing project teams and working across organizational boundaries to deliver positive results.

+ Leading by example, driven, excellent execution and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

+ 5+ years utilizing Agile development practices, including scrum, kanban and lean

+ Experience using modern software development and engineering practices, including DevOps, test automation and test-driven development, Site Reliability Engineering

+ Familiarity with data driven marketing and use of data to automate marketing interaction and orchestration

+ Master’s degree in computer science or mathematics

+ Experience in the financial services industry
