    Organization:

    General Pediatrics

    Job Summary:

In your pivotal role as Research Field Collector, you will perform a wide variety of duties to assist investigators in the collection, verification and compilation of research information in rural areas.

Our research team is focused on improving the health of families by designing and testing a behavioral health intervention in a primary care setting. Our team is conducting a single-site 3-year clinical trial to test if a peer parent coach model can achieve healthy weight gain in newborns, identify and address social determinants of health needs for families, and reduce family stress. The intervention is specifically focused on delivering evidence-based nutritional content via in-person and remote modalities. The patient population will likely have high social needs. The patient population will be racial and ethnically diverse and multilingual.

We are looking for an individual with experience, including lived experience, in early childhood growth and nutrition. This individual will serve as the lead Peer Parent Coach (PPC). In the role as a PPC, the individual will be responsible for contributing to the design and delivery of the intervention to enrolled families. Additionally, the PPC will participate in enrolling participants in the clinical study. Expertise or experience in working with families of young newborns/infants is preferred. Our research group flourishes because of a supportive team environment, so working as a part of a team is an essential component of this job. Because we work to meet families and community leaders where they are, training and intervention sessions may take place on nights or weekends either virtually or in the local community context, which will require scheduling flexibility for this position. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

    REQUIRED:

    - Professional experience raising children and helping families with newborns

    - Stong communication skills

    - Compassion and empathy

    - Proficiency in Micosoft Excel

This position will work 20 hours weekly; hours will be flexible, Monday-Friday. This will be a Hybrid/Remote role, and on-site presence will vary based on patient appointments.

This part-time project is expected to last 2-3 years. While we acknowledge that Tennessee is an employment-at-will state, we are hoping to identify someone who can commit to the completion of the project.
