A Day in the Life
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Shift: Saturday & Sunday 6:00PM to 6:00AM/Thursday & Friday 10:00PM to 6:00AM
+ Develops and applies computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.
+ Assessing architecture and hardware limitations, plans technical projects in the design and development of CAD software.
+ Defines and selects new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters.
+ Develops routines and utility programs.
+ Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.
+ May specify materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects and may evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
+ Provide support and troubleshooting for PLC’s, motion control, vision applications, robotic systems, and PC controlled equipment.
+ Provide technical expertise in manufacturing process activities.
+ Provide support for SOPs, qualification protocols, gap assessments, risk assessment, Impact Assessment, user requirements, functional and configuration specifications, requirements traceability, validation plans, validation summary reports and change controls.
+ Support PLC Software and Vision system validations.
+ Day-to-day Automation support.
+ Technical Assessment and Implementation Support.
+ Participate on Technical Meetings.
+ Development, Review and/or Approve Testing Documentation.
+ Execution Support.
+ Documentation Support.
+ Participation on team meetings to provide input on projects
+ Timeline considerations, activities, escalations, and status of assigned tasks.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor Engineering Degree
+ Requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have:
+ Experience in medical devices, pharmaceutical or electronic industry
+ Exposure or Experience to high volume, synchronized automated equipment running at rates of 35, 40, 100+ppm's; high precision assembly, Allen Bradley PLC, Servo motion controls, computer machine vision systems, Robotics, complex pneumatics, electrical wiring, mechanical assemblies and sensor.
+ Applications Development using an object-oriented language (i.e. C#, VB.Net).
+ SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, java and database design desirable.
+ PLC programming experience. Experience building new control systems.
+ Knowledgeable & experienced in mechanical, electrical/electronic design, programmable logic controls (PLC) – Allen Bradley, pneumatic systems, motor control, vision systems, and instrumentation.
+ Experience integrating Automation systems into MES systems for data collection and control.
+ Cognex Vision system design and integration for inspecting, locating and positioning.
+ Experience with Robots/Cobots.
+ Network design and debug.
+ HMI development and troubleshooting.
+ Knowledgeable on project management of automation systems development lifecycle.
+ Experience with servo controllers, motion applications.
+ Solid Works and/or AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project.
+ Knowledgeable and experienced in Design for Excellence (DFX) Principles and risk management. methodologies such as PFMEA.
+ Effective verbal, non-verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
+ Minitab or statistical software experience.
+ Knowledge of risk-based computer system validation deliverables associated with each step of the computer system life cycle.
