Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Providing leadership and direction for the anesthesia operations and services to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, high patient satisfaction, financial stewardship, and the development of services according to the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Sanford. Actively participate in tasks force, committees, board meetings, etc. to assist with the overall organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Integrates education, research, management, leadership and consultation into clinical roles.

Reviews, consults and collaborates closely with medical staff, administrators, department leaders, and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Develops trusting relationships with personnel, clinical professionals, other leadership, and multi-disciplinary departments in a professional attitude. Develops, implements and maintains anesthesia policies, procedures, and regulations. Monitors the operations of the staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Oversees the critical components associated and required to achieve intended results and ability in hiring, selection, retaining, and leveraging talent across the unit. Knowledge of human resources and personnel management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate and reward personnel at the work place. Understanding of current and potential team capabilities and ability to clarify performance targets and objectives

to drive project and process improvement strategies.

Education Details

Bachelor of Science degree required from an approved and accredited educational program in specific area of advanced practice. Masters degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) preferred.

**Experience Details** Minimum three years of CRNA experience. Two years leadership/management experience required.

License/Certification Details

Requires current unencumbered licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the State Board of Nursing in the state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.

CRNA certification required and maintained through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
