Job Description:
Johnson and Johnson is currently seeking the best talent for a Senior Director - Strategic Enablement, PMO to be based in Irvine, CA.
The Senior Director of Strategic Enablement is pivotal in leading the establishment of governance frameworks, leading risk oversight, and ensuring program compliance across all strategic PMO programs; owning and implementing program management standards, driving process and procedure improvements, and developing standards.
Additionally, this role is responsible for leading the Strategic Enablement team in building capabilities through training, fostering continuous improvement, and delivering insights via key performance indicators, while monitoring program health and overseeing resource allocation and budgets for R&D product development plans and PMO critical initiatives.
Reporting directly to the VP, Program Management Office, this role will lead planning of critical initiatives that support business goals and oversee timelines, approvals, and communication plans serving as a primary point of contact for internal and external customers. Additional responsibilities will include:
+ Lead the development and maintenance of the internal R&D Product Development plan to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
+ Establish and oversee governance frameworks to monitor project progress, decision-making processes, and compliance with corporate policies.
+ Ensure that development activities support long-term innovation objectives and regulatory requirements.
+ Develop, implement, and continuously refine standardized processes, procedures, and guidelines for product development and project management
+ Oversee process audits and assessments to find opportunities for improvement.
+ Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to prioritize projects and initiatives based on strategic value, feasibility, and resource availability.
+ Develop and maintain a transparent project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations.
+ Facilitate regular review sessions to reassess priorities and adjust the portfolio as needed to respond to changing market or organizational conditions.
+ Monitor budget and resource allocations and expenditures related to critical initiatives, ensuring optimal use of resources.
+ Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis for development projects.
+ Identify cost efficiencies and support financial decision-making to enhance return on investment.
+ Establish quality metrics and review mechanisms to ensure deliverables meet organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Lead initiatives to identify root causes of process inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement strategies.
+ Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and innovation within the development teams.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external customers, ensuring clear, timely communication of project status, priorities, and risks.
+ Lead change management initiatives to facilitate smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
+ Develop communication plans and training materials to support organizational engagement and transparency.
+ Build strong relationships with internal partners, including R&D, clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams, to facilitate collaboration and consensus.
+ Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance team capabilities and knowledge sharing.
+ Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on strategic enabling activities and collaborator engagement.
+ Oversee the implementation and optimization of tools, systems, and databases that support project tracking, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
+ Ensure that project information is accurate, accessible, and maintained in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
+ Promote the use of technology to improve workflow efficiency, data integrity, and decision-making processes.
+ Delivers actionable insights through management and tracking of key performance indicators, dashboards, and reporting across all PMO programs to monitor project health and team effectiveness.
Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in engineering or science; a Master’s level degree is preferred.
+ Minimum of 10 years in project management roles in a related field is required.
+ Knowledge and experience in product development processes is required
+ Experience in leading large, global teams is required
+ Experience in leading virtual teams is required.
+ Proven experience in ecosystem Project management
+ Must possess strong presentation skills, both written and verbal.
+ Minimum of 5 years in directing and leading cross-functional teams in a related field.
+ Exempt position requiring the ability to establish effective work schedule that accommodates frequent disruptions to routines and flexible work hours in accomplishing objectives.
+ Must have in-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and external standards is preferred.
+ Must successfully complete company training programs.
+ Advanced computer skills, and the ability to multitask without direct oversight of manager.
+ Up to 20% domestic and international travel will be required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$173,000 - 299,000
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
