Purpose:
Do you have experience with Care Management processes? Are you looking to share your knowledge with others? UPMC is hiring a full-time Care Management Operations Specialist. This role would work Monday through Friday during daylight hours. This role is eligible to work from home, however occasional travel on-site to the Quantum One Building in Pittsburgh and other UPMC facilities throughout Pennsylvania, Western New York, and Western Maryland is required as needed for training.
The Care Management Operations Specialist assesses UPMC Care Management staff training needs, schedules/plans/delivers training classes, and maintains records of training activities for system-wide Care Management staff. They coordinate and support Care Management information systems, processes and procedures and assure that all processes and training are compliant with regulatory requirements. The Operations Specialist responds to procedural questions and provides high level of technical and general support to the end user. Additionally, they assist in the facilitation of all information system changes and enhancements, develop appropriate training material content, and assist in the technical component of the training program.

Responsibilities:
+ Support the vision of UPMC Corporate Care Management in providing outstanding support, education, training and development.
+ Schedule, implement, and deliver training class for UPMC Hospital Discharge Planning, Revenue Cycle Care Management Operations, and Physician Advisor staff to reflect current processes.
+ Measure/document training results and maintain records of training activities.
+ Perform assessment of Care Management staff and implement appropriate training and development plan of action when indicated.
+ Provide on-site support of Care Management staff as appropriate based on identified learning needs.
+ Actively participate in meetings related to development and enhancement of Care Management technology.
+ Act as liaison between end user and internal departments/outside vendors.
+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure material is compliant with regulatory requirements.
+ Support Care Management Leadership in the design of end user level procedures to support Care Management technology.
+ Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Bachelor's Degree in nursing or science and active PA RN License OR Master's of Social Work Degree (LSW) OR Clinical Social Worker (CSW).
+ Three (3) years experience in health care related field.
+ Previous care management experience including: Utilization Management, Care Management or Social Work.
+ Understanding of clinical and Care Management processes.
+ Knowledge of medical necessity criteria.
+ Experience with Training and Development processes.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Critical thinking skills.
+ Organization/time management and prioritization skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
