Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and technically skilled Systems Security Analyst in support of one of our clients in Chesapeake, VA. This candidate will play a pivotal part in strengthening the IT infrastructure, safeguarding sensitive data, and ensuring compliance with various cybersecurity frameworks. We are seeking a proactive professional who can adeptly navigate the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats and deliver scalable, secure solutions that align with the city’s operational goals. Their day to day will include but is not limited to:

- Configure, audit, and monitor network devices to ensure secure operations

- Implement security controls and recommend corrective actions aligned with cybersecurity policies and standards

- Assess and secure operating systems across servers, IoT devices, and mobile platforms

- Identify OS-level vulnerabilities and propose remediation strategies

- Manage SOC/SIEM platforms for real-time threat detection and alerting

- Run vulnerability scans and deploy endpoint protection tools including MDR/DR solutions

- Conduct threat investigations and execute incident response protocols

- Perform system hardening and manage patch deployment across environments

- Administer identity and access controls using IAM, MFA, SSO, and Zero Trust frameworks

- Configure Active Directory with role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles

- Secure AWS and Azure workloads using cloud-native tools and SaaS posture management platforms

- Implement cloud-based security controls to protect data and applications

- Perform risk assessments using NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, HIPAA, CJIS, and PCI frameworks

- Develop and apply mitigation strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce exposure

Compensation: $50.50/hr. to $55.50/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or systems analysis

- Strong understanding of security principles, tools, and frameworks

- Security + certification - Industry certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Azure Security Engineer or AWS Security Engineer)
