Job Description
The Workers’ Compensation Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s workers’ compensation program while leading proactive risk management initiatives. This role collaborates closely with the HR Manager, HR Director, and Safety/Compliance teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, streamline claims management, and minimize workplace risks. The Specialist serves as the primary contact for employees, managers, brokers, and carriers regarding workers’ compensation claims and inquiries. Key responsibilities include administering the full claims process, evaluating program performance, and preparing reports for leadership and regulatory agencies. Additionally, the role involves investigating workplace incidents, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety policies and training programs. The Specialist monitors regulatory developments, analyzes data to reduce claims costs, and delivers training on safety and claims procedures. This position requires strong initiative, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment that aligns with the organization’s mission and values.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk management, occupational health and safety, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in workers’ compensation, risk management, or a related role.
Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and OSHA regulations Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP) or related certification
Prior experience working within a green field development initiative
Prior automotive experience in a manufacturing environment
