• Power Systems Engineer

    Job Description

    An employer is seeking 3+ Power Systems Engineers to join their team in Austin, Tx. The engineers will be joining the Grid and Market Solutions (GMS) team for a large electric provider. The Power Systems Engineers will be responsible for power system analysis including load flow, short circuit, etc to ensure voltage is being maintained through the power systems and they are not overloaded. This includes having experience with transformers, switchgear, UPS Systems and knowledge of fault analysis and system protection schemes. He or she will be building and maintaining SCADA models, EMS application development and provide real-time grid monitoring. The Engineers must be proficient in PLC programming, control diagrams and automation systems using C++, Java, Fortran. This role is hybrid on-site as an as needed basis with the majority of their working being from home. The hourly pay for this role ranges from $70 - $85/hr depending on experience and feedback from the client.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    7+ years of experience as a Power Systems Engineer

     

    Hands on development experience with C++, Java, C or Fortran

     

    EMS application experience in regards to maintaining and upgrading platforms (Ex Siemens, Spectrum Power)

     

    Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC or other regulatory standards PowerShell, Python, or SQL scripting
