    The Role:

    Xylem is seeking a Data Engineer to lead the RF Network Optimization and Reporting team with building and modernizing data pipelines and tools via API and cloud database integrations. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data ingestion frameworks, real-time and batch API integrations, and workflows utilized by a team of Application Engineers and Optimization Engineers.

    Core Responsibilities:

    + Design and implement data pipelines that consume data from RESTful APIs, streaming sources, and third-party platforms.

    + Develop and maintain Python, Fabric, and/or Microsoft Power Platform-based workflows for structured and unstructured data.

    + Collaborate with application engineers and network optimization engineers to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets used for customer-facing reports.

    + Optimize data ingestion and transformation processes for performance and scalability.

    + Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all pipelines.

    + Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and API integrations.

    + Work with cloud platforms and modern data tools

    + Document processes, schemas, and integration logic for internal stakeholders.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

    + 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data analysis.

    + Strong proficiency in Python.

    + Proficient with API integrations (REST, Webhooks).

    + Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.

    + Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Fabric, Superset, etc.).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) or Radio Frequency (RF) networks a plus

    + Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).

    + Experience with streaming data (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs, Pub/Sub).

    + Experience with Atlassian products and integrations (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

    + Exposure to containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman).

    + Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.

    + Familiarity with ITIL business practices
