    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Energy Marshall to work for one of our largest technology clients in the Charlotte, NC area. This person will be working in an assurance role that helps ensure the vendors and contractors energy isolation project meets the company’s policy requirements for the data center construction and commissioning efforts. This person will be in a critical role implementing learnings, providing consistency, and driving rigor into the energy isolation program. The Energy Marshal is a representative who oversees and assures the Authorizing Energy Marshal (GC) and supplemental vendor support comply with the overall Energy Isolation Program Management on a datacenter construction campus. In addition to responsibilities outlined under Energy Marshall, this candidate will also lead as Owner's Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Construction Manager, including managing MEP Commissioning Issues.

     

    Utilize SPS-101 Energy Isolation SPS and SPS-101 Energy Isolation Guidebook as the baseline and foundation of the Energy Isolation Program that is implemented throughout the campus and project.

     

    Oversees and assures the overall compliance of the Energy Isolation Program and establish acceptance criteria for authorizing campus Energy Isolation Plan.

     

    Utilise local code and standards as the foundation for the Energy Isolation program that is implemented throughout the campus.

     

    Establish with the Engineering team a centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedure with all campus entities and determine if a group or individual LOTO procedure will be required.

     

    Commencement of energy isolation activities with updates on a continuous basis.

     

    Act in coordination with the Engineering team as a subject matter expert in all energy isolation incident investigations in area of responsibility

     

    Participate in high-risk activity (HRA) planning meetings associated with energy isolation.

     

    Ensures high-risk SOWs, SOPs and MOPs are reviewed, and all sources of energy are identified

     

    Pay for this is 40-80/hr

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

     

    10+ years of experience within Commerical Construction

     

    Previous Data Center/Hyperscaler Experience

     

    5+ years of technical engineering experience

     

    Experience in critical environment and industry standards and practices

     

    Ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure design of LOTO systems is 100% effective and in compliance

    Experience in the Control of Hazardous Energy in complex mission critical infrastructure

    Experience with the operation and maintenance of building MEP systems. (Power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, controls systems and sprinkler systems)

     

    Understanding of electrical theory and practical application via your maintenance & operation of critical electrical equipment. (Paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)

     

    Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (blueprints, electrical one-lines, construction drawings etc.)

     

    Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls & frameworks.
