    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking to hire a Field Service Technician for an international electronics company sitting in Columbia, MD. This role will be responsible for performing on-site and in-house calibration and repair of technical equipment to meet high performance standards. Please note, this role requires 70% travel via driving throughout the west coast (San Diego, CA up to Vancouver, BC). Travel stints could be up to 6 weeks at a time. All travel costs and meals will be expensed. The technician will diagnose malfunctions, complete complex data reports, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional support and service. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate logs of work performed, hours spent, and inventory used. The position involves moderately complex projects that require independent action and effective communication in a business environment. Collaboration with engineering teams and consistent customer interaction are key components of the role.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - Minimum of 5 years of technical experience, with a solid understanding of RF concepts and IP networking principles.

     

    o Familiar with using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.

     

    o Experience repairing RF devices

     

    - Familiarity with terminal applications such as Tera Term and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

     

    - Ability to travel at least 70%, primarily domestically with occasional international assignments, and support on-call service actions.
