    Job Description

    An employer is looking for a Mainframe DB2z DBA that will provide support on IBM Mainframes with the following responsibilities and tools support.

     

    - Executing DDL and DML requests for Application teams and business users in production, test, and development environments.

     

    -Develop scripts ( JCL, REXX) to manage, maintain, and provide reporting on vital database activities and execution of jobs

     

    -Replication setup to replicate data across different DB2 subsystems

     

    - Database and SQL performance monitoring– techniques for tablespace and index optimization, Omegamon for Db2 and Query Monitor

     

    - Review of Db2 package access paths , hints

     

    -Working knowledge of Db2 utilities

     

    -Analysis of data growth , capacity planning and maintenance activities

     

    -Building and implementing database backup and recovery strategies.

     

    -Setting up tables and data synchronization in IDAA

     

    - Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation

     

    -Designing, developing, implementing, and providing operation support of database security.

     

    -Preparing disaster recovery (DR) documentation and participating in DR activities to ensure database recovery at the DR site is within set Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).

     

    -Automation of routine tasks

     

    -Planning and execution of Db2 software upgrade activities

    Tools installation, upgrades and customization, maintenance and troubleshooting support of the following:

    o IDAA ( Netezza and LinuxOne).

     

    o lDAA Loader.

     

    o IIDR (SQL and Queue Replication for DB2 z/OS).

     

    o Admin Tool and Object Compare.

     

    o Query Monitor.

     

    o Db2 Sort.

     

    o QMF.

     

    o Log Analysis Tool.

     

    o Optim.

     

    o Compuware suite.

     

    o POCs for replicating data from Mainframe to Cloud and ongoing support of replication tools.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    6+ years of DBA experience for Db2z

    Db2 data sharing experience

    IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) current version is 10.2

     

    IDAA (analytics accelerator) Zowe plug in

     

    Administration foundation for DB2, IDMS, and ServiceNow
