The In-Home Respite Worker assists family members in maintaining the consumer at home. This includes relieving family members from basic self-help needs and other activities of daily living, including interaction, socialization, and continuation of daily routines that family members would ordinarily perform and/or facilitate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Maintains confidentiality of all clients

+ Performs duties and procedures, as assigned/directed, in an accurate and timely manner

+ Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures, including, but not limited to Universal Precautions

+ Notifies the Company office of any abnormal findings or conditions

+ Adheres to standards and procedures of the Company’s In-Home Respite Services

+ Arrives at the client’s home on time, and leaves when shift schedule is complete

+ Represents Companion Services with a positive image at all times

+ Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability when meeting needs

+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

+ Education and experience in related duties preferred

+ TB screening, if applicable

+ Community CPR training and First Aid Training required (see Lanterman Act, Title 17)

+ Strong telephone and communication skills

+ Valid Driver’s license if required to drive

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ May not be a parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of the consumer

+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the

+ English language may be required

+ Computer proficiency required

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
