About the Role:
We are actively looking for an Instrument Technician with hands-on experience in a critical industrial environment, such as power, chemical, or food/beverage. We need an expert in the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of complex I&C systems. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of NIST traceable standards and ISO 17025 procedures, proficiency with instruments like flowmeters and pressure gauges, and the ability to manage calibration schedules. Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:
+ Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control generating operations in manufacturing or industrial plant: Inspects meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
+ Tests accuracy of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors, and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to locate defective components in system, using test equipment, such as pressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, and ammeters, voltmeters, and wattmeters.
+ Performs calibration of instrumentation necessary for maintaining production equipment and other auxiliary measurement systems.
+ Traces out and tests electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analog and digital, protection, or radiation monitoring systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
+ Maintain good working condition of calibration standards
+ Complete calibration and service work in accordance with in-house procedures or site procedures
+ Provide technical support for calibration processes and procedures
+ Create calibration procedures
+ Create and/or follow Monthly Calibration Schedules and coordinate scheduling with equipment owners.
+ Complete ICRS/Calibration Certificates and/or approving Certificates.
+ Performs calibration of instrumentation necessary for maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment
+ Assists in qualification of equipment / facilities as needed.
+ PLC/HMI Troubleshooting, minor programming, installation of instrumentation and controls, and calibration.
+ Recommend upgrades or best installation practices to existing instrumentation and controls systems were applicable.
+ Perform other duties as required.
You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:
+ High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or certification from trade school is strongly preferred.
+ Have a minimum of 5 years experience working as an Instrument Tech within related industry, such as power, chemical, food/beverage, oil/gas, etc.
+ Knowledge of servicing and installing I&C equipment within manufacturing or industrial site
+ Knowledge of performing calibrations of instruments, including but not limited to: flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors.
+ Knowledge of performing measurements for: analytical, pressure, volumetric flow, mass flow, ultrasonic flow, level, temperature, local controllers, LEL.
+ Experienced with creating and implementing Monthly Calibration Schedule.
+ Ability to adhere to client and company directions, policies and standards.
+ Ability to provide superior customer service
+ ISA CCST certification is preferred, but not required.
_Physical Requirements:_
+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
+ The person in this position needs to frequently move about client’s facilities and offices to access equipment and complete tasks.
+ Consistently operate instrumentation standards, computers, calculator, copy machine, printer and other devices to efficiently complete tasks.
+ Consistently ascend and descend portable and fixed ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various levels of height some of which maybe in excess of 25 feet in a safe manner.
+ Must be able to ascend and descend a large quantity of stairways at any given time.
+ Frequently move tools and equipment weighing up to 50lbs across client facilities as needed to complete tasks.
+ Occasionally lift and move equipment in excess of 100lbs in a safe manner.
+ Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
+ Support clients in the Baltimore Metro Area with occasional travel to four state coverage area, DE/PA/VA/NJ
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Pay: $32.50-47.50/hour (based upon experience)
