GIS Analyst
Responsibilities
**GIS Analyst I** - is responsible for supporting PGW’s geographic information system (GIS) projects. This is a well-rounded professional who performs a wide range of GIS tasks in ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise environment hosted in the cloud. The individual is expected to act independently from designing data models, ensuring data quality, analyzing data patterns, automating data processing, and presenting data visualization results. The individual is required to keep up with ESRI technology and products with strong self-directed learning skills.
**GIS Analyst II-** performs all the Analyst I responsibilities in addition, the position supports the PGW GIS Technicians’ responsibilities.
**Senior GIS Analyst** performs all the Analyst I & Analyst II responsibilities in addition; the position manages and supports the PGW GIS Technicians’ responsibilities. The individual is required to keep up with ESRI technology and products with strong self-directed learning skills.
Responsibilities Include:
GIS Analyst I
Work with PGW business users to provide GIS solutions to business processes and regulatory information requests.
Analyze spatial and non-spatial data, create maps, apps, documentation, and reports for PGW business in ArcGIS Enterprise environment or any business-required formats.
Design automated workflows using Python to integrate ArcGIS Enterprise with PGW on-premises, in housework management system (AIMS) and CIS system through modern APIs.
Edit and maintain PGW asset data in a versioned enterprise geodatabase using ArcGIS Pro.
Work with PGW data maintenance vendor for punctual and accurate GIS data updates. Provides data sources in various formats to vendors. Monitors vendor’s data deliveries in enterprise geodatabase. Conducts Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC) using ESRI Data Reviewer and Python.
Write SQL statements against both GIS and non-GIS relational databases.
Process real-time data from different sources using ArcGIS Geo Event.
Perform routing analysis for PGW business processes using ArcGIS Network Analysis.
Geocode address automatically using ESRI Geocoder and/or Google Maps API.
Automate other GIS workflows using Python, JavaScript or other scripting languages as specified by business unit/user requirements.
Follow GIS department’s database, mapping, and scripting standards to perform tasks.
Keep up with new GIS technology and products.
Perform other special projects and assignments as requested.
GIS Analyst II
Manage ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, including services, maps, and apps.
Work with PGW cloud maintenance vendor for software installations and updates.
Manage GIS enterprise geodatabase, including data and versions.
Manage ESRI collaborations between ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
Provide technical support to GIS Technicians' tasks.
Senior GIS Analyst
Administrate ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, including managing services, maps, apps, users, groups, and licenses. Monitors ArcGIS Enterprise’s performance and ArcGIS Online’ s credit consumption.
Administrate GIS enterprise geodatabase, including managing data and users, assigning privileges, managing versions, performing maintenance, ensuring functionality and performance, and responding to database related issues.
Provide technical leadership in GIS architecture design, data governance, and system integration strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Information Systems and Technology, or other related field of study; master’s degree or GIS Certificate is a plus.
GIS Analyst I- Minimum of 1+ years of full-time experience using the ESRI platform.
GIS Analyst II-Minimum of 3+ years of full-time experience using the ESRI platform.
Senior GIS Analyst- Minimum of 5+ years of full-time experience using the ESRI platform.
Must have experience with ArcGIS Pro. Must have experience editing data in ArcGIS Pro.
Must have experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online. Must have knowledge of publishing services and configuring web maps/apps. Experience with other ESRI products like Geo Event, Collaboration, Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, Insights, Field Maps, etc. is a plus. Experience with administrating ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online is a plus.
Must have experience with ArcGIS enterprise geodatabase (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.). Experience with geodatabase administration is a plus.
Must have experience with Python and ArcPy. Experience with ArcGIS API for Python is a plus.
Must have experience with writing SQL.
Must have knowledge of HTML and CSS. Knowledge of JavaScript is a plus, experience with ArcGIS Arcade and ArcGIS API for JavaScript is a plus.
Must have knowledge of modern APIs like REST API.
Must have knowledge of Extraction, Translation, and Load (ETL) processes.
Experience with ESRI Utility Network or Geometric Network is a plus.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and basic interpretation of drawings is a plus.
