PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Specialty Clinic for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. Hourly compensation is $26.49 – $35.75 for MA and for $28.32 - $42.46 for LPN Clinic; hiring rate dependent on qualifications and professional experience. Visiting Specialty Clinics support a variety of specialties including ENT, Urology, and Gastro. This provides a unique opportunity to learn and have exposure to multiple specialties!
PeaceHealth has been serving the communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29-bed long-term care facility. Primary and specialty medical care is provided by PeaceHealth Medical Group—Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES).

In collaboration with the healthcare team, assists physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within the scope of practice for a Medical Assistant.
Details of the position:
+ Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable. Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
+ Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable.
+ Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
+ Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
+ May transport specimens.
+ May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
+ May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
+ May provide phone screening of patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician.
+ Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
+ Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant program, or accredited State Board of Nursing LPN program.
+ Current Registered or National Medical Assistant certification or Alaska LPN license.
+ American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) at date of hire.
