As a Seafood Quality Control Manager, your expertise, vision, and strategy will allow you to see the products you inspect come to life in stores and online. Leveraging your quality expertise with the access and scale of the Sams Club system, you'll make a direct impact on the business and have our members feel like the products we offer were made with them in mind. In Quality Control our goal is simple: build trust with our members by ensuring we provide the highest quality fresh food when they shop with us online or in-store. Fresh foods produce; meat, deli, and bakery are dynamic businesses that require clear planning and execution to provide great quality to our members. Our clubs need QC to provide consistent quality so they can delight our members. Suppliers also need to trust that well treat them fairly while maintaining the high-quality standards we expect from them.
What you'll do
The Seafood QC Manager position is a strategically critical role at Sams Club. You have a dual role: inspecting case-ready seafood as it is produced in a third-party supplier facility while also analyzing the quality to prioritize where Sams Club can have the biggest impact. You interact with plant management to show them areas to improve quality as well as work with the seafood merchandising team to ensure the merchant vision is being executed on the plant floor. Strong communication skills are also critical, because you'll work with many supply-chain partners merchandising/sourcing, distribution, technology teams, and suppliers. You'll have the opportunity to use design-thinking for process improvement and to support the development of new systems and processes. Our members depend on QC to drive quality and shelf life, and you are part of the team that makes it happen.

You'll make an impact by:
+ Establishing and influencing high-visibility relationships with merchants, supply chain partners, and suppliers
+ Making decisions about dozens of products and processes every day. From quality to food safety and compliance, you will be involved in the decisions that shape Quality for Sam’s Club and our Members.
+ Your background knowledge will be leveraged daily, and you will always be learning more to build a broad foundation across all Fresh departments.
+ Leading cross-functional efforts to improve quality, from supplier to club
+ Always looking for creative ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and member experience
Minimum Qualifications
+ 3 years of supervisory experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Food Science, or related field and 2 years of experience in agricultural quality control, agronomy, food retail management, or related field OR 4 years of experience in agricultural quality control, agronomy, food retail management, or related field.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
+ 1-2 years of experience in food safety, vendor management or a related field.
+ 2-3 years of experience of poultry or meat industry experience, preferably quality related.
+ 2 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office functionality (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ 3 years of retail produce inspection experience or USDA inspection experience.
+ 2 years of fruit ripening experience.
+ 6 years of experience in agricultural quality control, agronomy, food retail management, or related field.

The annual salary range for this position is $88,000.00-$171,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
