Responsibilities
_The Role:_
As an Internal Communications Specialist you will help develop and implement strategic internal communications focused on enhancing associate experience, building understanding and engagement of operational priorities and ultimately helping strengthen culture across the Ascension Florida market.
_Responsibilities:_
+ Assist with implementing an internal communications plan and content that combines big-picture thinking with a localized voice
+ Communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages and aligns with organizational strategy
+ Independently manage a varied workload in an environment with competing priorities
+ Collaborate with colleagues across the local market as well as enterprise-wide teams to ensure alignment and best practice
+ Draft communications with special attention to detail, enhanced clarity and clear call to action
+ Ensure that communications reflect the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension as a healing ministry of the Catholic Church
+ Proactively identify trends, risks, challenges and propose solutions to process adoption and in support of change communication efforts
+ Manage a content and editorial calendar to streamline communications across all channels, building awareness of and engagement with priority initiatives
+ Develop a ‘journalist’ mindset as you look for stories that will celebrate our associates and the inspirational work they do in service to our Mission
+ Maintain flexible availability and responsiveness both during and outside of normal work hours, as necessary
_Complexity of Work:_
+ Requires excellent writing and project management skills, as well as critical thinking and decisive judgment. Ideally, the candidate will have a knowledge of communications best practices and standards.
+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ This is an on site position with some remote work options at the discretion of the supervisor.
Requirements
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences
+ Bachelor's degree. Communications or Journalism degree preferred.
+ Prefer 2-3 years working in a communications role where you were:
+ Adept at the rapid development of content in support of local business goals and organizational communications needs
+ Collaborating closely with other communications or marketing functions within the organization
+ Writing for all types of audiences across communications platforms, including intranet, email and video scripting
+ Executing against communications plans and campaigns, including change communications, and measuring effectiveness against established KPIs
+ Planning and managing a coordinated content approach
+ Working within a project management software/workflow
