Job Summary
Manage the Energy Management System (EMS) and Transmission Fiber Infrastructure (TFI) engineering support for the PSE&G Electric Operations Center (ESOC) for the safe and reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System (BES). Support the engineering and execution of critical infrastructure initiatives and PJM projects that support reliability. Provide technical expertise to PSEG Legal regarding regulatory policies for FERC, NERC, RF and PJM. Assist with the operating budget for ESOC Engineering activities at the Utility Control Center. Support non-routine ESOC engineering and technical studies. Develop ESOC EMS positions and represent ESOC Engineering at PJM, NERC, and RF committees. Primary contact for PJM electric modeling and data-telemetry coordination team. Responsible for communicating technical information with Internal and External teams in the event of an emergency situation with the EMS. Manage the interface with Transmission Fiber Infrastructure (TFI) Network Operations Center (NOC), field support, and outside vendors for TFI. Provide engineering technical expertise for communications and reporting to FERC, NERC, DOE, RF and PJM regarding events on the PSE&G BES.
Job Responsibilities
+ Work closely with Real-Time Operations and internal and external stakeholders to review scheduled and emergency work to ensure EMS and TFI meet operational needs without impacting Safety and Reliability of the Bulk Electric System.
+ Support construction and reliability project execution to completion within target date and maintain FERC, NERC and PJM compliance.
+ Develop and manage the budget for the Utility Control Center and the back-up at Newark.
+ Support/Initiate specialized engineering studies and analysis to ensure efficiency, reliability and stability of the ESOC Infrastructure.
+ Manage NERC CIP Physical Security of EMS and TFI environments at the Primary Control Center at UCC and the back-up in Newark and report system disturbances to NERC, FERC, DOE, RF, and PJM.
+ Manage the interface with the TFI NOC, Field support, and INOC.
Job Specific Qualifications
+ BS Engineering with 5 years of relevant work experience
+ Experience working in Transmission Control Room Operations and TFI Operations
+ Ability to clearly articulate dynamics of the real-time electric system and develop a case for new tools and initiatives for continuous improvement
+ Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of PSEG Core Commitments of Safety, Integrity, Continuous Improvement, Diversity & Inclusion, and Customer Service
+ Must possess a deep understanding of how business operates; Be resourceful, collaborative and a creative solution-seeker

+ Energy Management System, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), Advanced Network Applications
+ In depth knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations, North American Electric Reliability Corporation - Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) and 693 Operating Reliability Standards and Compliance, Reliability First (RF) rules and regulations, PJM Operations and Planning policies and procedures, and PSE&G Role as a NERC registered Transmission Owner and Distribution Provider
