Job Title: Senior Medical Assistant
Job Description
As a Senior Medical Assistant, you will assist with patient intake, including verifying information, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for procedures. You will support licensed staff during nuclear cardiology procedures by maintaining a clean and organized environment. Your role will include performing clerical duties such as scheduling, data entry, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. You will prepare exam rooms and ensure that equipment and supplies are stocked and sanitized. Additionally, you will escort patients to and from testing areas and communicate effectively with patients and staff to support coordinated care. You will follow all safety protocols related to radiation and infection control as trained.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with patient intake, verify information, record vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.
+ Support licensed staff during nuclear cardiology procedures by maintaining a clean and organized environment.
+ Perform clerical duties such as scheduling, data entry, and maintaining patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
+ Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment and supplies are stocked and sanitized.
+ Escort patients to and from testing areas.
+ Communicate effectively with patients and staff to support coordinated care.
+ Follow all safety protocols related to radiation and infection control as trained.
Key Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the nuclear medicine technologist to facilitate daily workflow, typically supporting 8–9 patients per day.
+ Assist with nuclear stress testing procedures, which include:
+ Preparing patients for imaging and monitoring during the process.
+ Supporting resting image acquisition (approximately 20 minutes on the camera).
+ Assisting with patient positioning and comfort during imaging sessions.
+ Provide support during administration of medications and imaging agents under licensed supervision.
+ Help monitor patients during stress testing, including connecting patients to EKG equipment and verifying proper setup.
+ Act as an additional set of eyes for patient safety and procedural accuracy.
+ Maintain a clean and organized testing environment and ensure equipment readiness.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in medical assisting and patient chart management.
+ Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in laboratory and clinical environments.
+ Knowledge of medical technology and med tech procedures.
+ Understanding of cardiac processes.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science preferred – Premed/biology, etc.
+ Some knowledge of cardiac rhythms
+ Some knowledge of EKG machines
+ Experience as a Career MA
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with nuclear medicine or as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred.
+ Some knowledge of cardiac rhythms.
+ Bachelor's degree preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment involves hands-on experience in a clinical setting, offering clinical hours and long-term networking opportunities. The work schedule is from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, and you will see approximately 8-9 patients per day. The role offers the opportunity to work with a great group of doctors and provides numerous learning opportunities.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Westminster, Colorado.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
