About the Role:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Collector to join our team at a busy Ambulatory Surgery Center. This position is responsible for managing the collection of patient and insurance balances, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in all interactions. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Review and follow up on outstanding patient and insurance balances.

+ Process insurance denials and appeals promptly and accurately.

+ Contact patients and payers via phone and email to resolve account issues.

+ Verify insurance information and update patient records as needed.

+ Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts.

+ Collaborate with billing and front-office teams to resolve billing discrepancies.

+ Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of medical collections experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center or similar healthcare setting.

+ Strong understanding of insurance billing, EOBs, and payer follow-up.

+ Excellent communication and customer service skills.

+ High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

+ Experience with EPIC EMR and billing software.

+ Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes is a plus.
