    CU Boulder is searching for an Embedded Therapist and Multicultural Specialist! This position provides direct clinical services to university students with the focus on the Student Academic Success Center (SASC). Services provided include time-limited individual therapy, group psychotherapy, triage and screening services, crisis management, workshops, community outreach, and consultation on mental health concerns to faculty and staff within the academic program.

     

    This position collaborates with the liaison from Health Promotion and the liaison from the Office of Victim Assistance to create the Program's Health & Wellness (H&W) Embedded Team. Together the H&W Embedded Team work with the Program's faculty, staff, and administration to identify mental health needs within the Program, and appropriate programming. The position collaborates with other campus departments as appropriate for the treatment of CAPS patients and ensures issues of Diversity and Social Justice are considered in all assessment, treatment, referral, and training services provided. A majority of the caseload will include Multicultural Care Track students. These roles also provide clinical supervision and training seminars to psychology and social work trainees if needed. This position ensures accurate and timely EHR documentation of treatment and referral processes as they occur.

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

     

    Clinical Services and Outreach - Provide individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, triage/screenings and workshops to students. Provide consultation to students, faculty and staff. Services are primarily offered within a brief therapy framework, and will be provided within a specific academic program. Maintain accurate and timely documentation via the EHR. Provide supervision and clinical consultation to CAPS trainees.Supervision and Administration - Complete clinical documentation, case management and case disposition; coordination of special projects or areas of responsibility. Attend staff and other CAPS meetings. May participate in campus committees or meetings.Training - Provide and coordinate multicultural outreach, training and consultation to University students, faculty, staff on mental health and wellness issues, with particular focus on serving the needs of diverse, historically marginalized, and underrepresented student populations, including African American, Asian American, Latinx/Hispanic, Native American, LGBTQ, undocumented, and veteran populations. Training may include seminars to psychology and social work trainees and support training in multiculturalism for CAPS staff. The role also collaborates with other Embedded Therapists in providing outreach to their academic program around multicultural concerns.Represent CAPS in workshops and on-campus presentations. Function as the CAPS liaison for the academic program in which they are placed.

    What You Should Know

    + This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. This role is not expected to work University recognized holidays and will not be on call at any time. The position has hybrid schedule options available.

    + This position may require some evenings and weekends as needed.

     

    What We Can Offer

    The salary range for this role is dependent on years of independent licensure and education:

    + Master's degree: $71,500 - $89,392 annually.

    + Doctorate degree: $81,400 - $101,769 annually.

    What We Require

    + 1 year of licensure as an LCSW, Ph.D, Psy.D, LPC or LMFT.

    + Additional 4 years clinical practice experience providing multicultural counseling and training.

    + Master's degree in social work or counseling or Doctoral degree in psychology.

    + Licensed in the state of Colorado by the date of hire.

    + Experience with a range of clinical issues, ranging from developmental issues to more serious psychopathology.

    + Experience providing brief therapy.

    + Experience with electronic medical record-keeping and documentation.

    + Experience in working with students from multicultural backgrounds and marginalized populations.

    What You Will Need

    + Demonstrated multicultural competence and commitment to a multicultural organizational development.

    + Demonstrated interest in the application and integration of social justice in counseling center work.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills.

    + Able to work independently off-site.

    + Knowledge of Federal and Colorado laws governing the practice of psychotherapy and privacy practices in post-secondary educational institutions.

    + Extensive consultation and outreach experience, program development and evaluation including training faculty, staff and students.

    + Ability to collaborate with the Campus Community consisting of Staff, Faculty, and Students.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills to create and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and a wide range of constituents, including faculty and staff.

    + Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, sound judgement, and maintain strict confidentiality in the performance of duties.
