The Research Intern will support ongoing clinical and translational research projects examining the impact of perioperative interventions on outcomes in patients undergoing surgery for head and neck cancers. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research design, data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of findings relevant to perioperative medicine and oncology. The Research Intern will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, and data scientists to advance understanding of how perioperative care influences cancer recovery and long-term outcomes.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
(1) Gain exposure to clinical research in perioperative oncology and evidence-based medicine.
(2) Develop skills in data management, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.
(3) Learn how perioperative factors influence recovery, quality of life, and oncologic outcomes.
(4) Contribute meaningfully to projects that have the potential to improve surgical care and patient well-being.
(5) Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced clinicians and researchers.
*ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*
Bachelor's degree is required.
