We’re seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality efforts for extrusion, gasket, and sealing component suppliers. This role ensures our partners deliver components that meet our standards for quality, reliability, cost, and delivery—while driving continuous improvement across the global supply base.

    How You'll Create Possibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead proactive and reactive quality initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.

    • Partner with cross-functional teams using Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify and eliminate issues in NPI and C-Change projects.

    • Conduct Critical Part Risk Reviews to assess performance, reliability, and quality risks.

    • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to ensure lasting resolutions.

    • Manage changes through the GE Appliances Change Control Process.

    • Lead and own PPAP requirements for design or process changes.

    • Conduct supplier capability assessments and collaborate with Sourcing and Technology to recommend strategic supplier development or new qualifications.

    • Support new supplier qualifications through on-site assessments, corrective actions, and progress tracking.

    • Perform annual audits to ensure supplier compliance and effectiveness.

    • Qualify alternate sources to reduce risk and support NPI or transfer-of-work initiatives.

    • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through process improvements, Variable Cost Productivity (VCP), and material optimization.

    • Apply Lean manufacturing concepts to eliminate waste and reduce rework.

    • Ensure supplier adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

    • Partner across teams to implement continuous improvement projects within assigned commodities.

    • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and processes to enhance cost, quality, and product appearance.

    • Serve as a technical expert in extrusion and sealing technologies to improve supplier and internal performance.

    • Contribute supplier and technology insights to influence global commodity strategies.

     

    What You'll Bring to Our Team

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics, or equivalent technical experience.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain, quality, or technical roles within a manufacturing environment.

    • Strong background in applying statistical tools (Gage R&R, Process Capability, Control Plans, SPC, PFMEA, DOE).

    • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, interpreting dimensions and tolerances, and applying GD&T principles.

    • Skilled in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, Six Sigma, PPAP, and SCAR.

    • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change in a matrixed organization.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.

    • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 20%).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.

    • Experience with extrusion, sealing, or related manufacturing processes.

    • Proven experience developing, managing, and executing complex project plans globally and domestically.

    • Ability to simplify complex information and communicate key insights effectively to leadership.

    • International work experience and/or proficiency in multiple languages (e.g., Chinese, Spanish).
