Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$42.280 - $54.570 - $66.850

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Plans and administers assigned respiratory care functions and duties.

Required Qualifications

+ Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program

+ Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - The National Board of Respiratory Care

+ California Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) - Respiratory Care Board of CA

+ AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

+ Associate's Degree Related field

+ One (1) year Respiratory Care experience

+ ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association

+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Essential Functions

+ CommunicationCommunicates patient status, observed change and responses to appropriate member of the healthcare team.Consistently updates IPOC/IPER once per shift.Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for and interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.Attends patient care rounds.

+ DocumentationProficient in computer systems for data entry charges/credits.Maintains patient records as per department guidelines.Enters patient charges/credits as directed with specified time frame.Point of care documentation.

+ QualityAdheres to aseptic technique and universal precautions.Considers patient safety, age, cultural; psychosocial/physical needs of patients and families when providing care.Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care and answers questions.Perform and adheres to department established patient care assessment and / or patient driven protocol.Identifies inappropriate care and follows through with appropriate recommendations.Participates in orientation of new staff / students.

+ Time managementCompletes delegated duties within timeframes or reports to the appropriate healthcare team member when unable to complete assignment.Accepts additional assignments willingly.Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing work loads with adherence to all department rules and guidelines of care. (Answering pages timely)Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignment in timely manner including taking breaks / lunch.
