Job Summary:
Methodist Children’s Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated **Nurse Practitioner (NP)** or **Physician Assistant (PA)** to join our Pediatric Hematology and Oncology team. This advanced practice provider will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centered care to children with blood disorders and cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings
+ Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians
+ Manage chemotherapy administration, transfusions, and supportive care
+ Participate in patient and family education, ensuring understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
+ Coordinate care with other specialties, nursing staff, social workers, and support services
+ Participate in clinical rounds, tumor boards, and quality improvement initiatives
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
+ Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain)
+ National certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant
+ BLS and PALS certification required
+ Prior experience in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric acute care preferred
Preferred Skills:
+ Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
+ Comfort with managing complex pediatric patients and coordinating multidisciplinary care
