    Job Summary and Qualifications

    JOB SUMMARY

    The senior telecom engineer is responsible for programming and implementing all our softphones and VOIP devices at our corporate campus sites. They ensure that our systems operate correctly, which sometimes implies visits to corporate sites when issues occur. In addition, they should be proficient in local IT desktop support.

     

    Work closely with our network team to manage all our corporate VLANs and any upcoming changes.

     

    Takes technical lead with supervision on all Telecom projects. Provides Telecom guidance and instruction to Desktop Technicians. Manages assigned building workload. Escalates to vendors when appropriate to resolve issues.

     

    Must have a strong customer focus, be a team player and display a positive attitude.

     

    Strong communication skills, both written and oral, a must. Strong problem-solving abilities and creative approaches.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Extensive VoIP technology knowledge, including system administration utilizing Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unity Connection.

    • Physical telephony hardware support.

    • First responder to Incidents and SCTasks tickets from Service (Now) Central users and teams, such as adds, moves, changes, and issues.

    • Evaluating new technologies where needed and providing input for long-term departmental strategies.

    • Developing and implementing process improvements, documentation improvements, and task expectations for the telecom aspects of all IT Projects

    • Maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary to complete responsibilities effectively.

    EXPERIENCE

    Qualified candidates must have minimum of 5 years of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unity Connection experience

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s degree preferred with technical training

    OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)

    • Cisco Unity Connection (CUC)

    • Basic Cisco switch management.

    • Networking concepts

    • Customer service attitude
