Job Summary and Qualifications
The Senior BI Developer supports the operational effectiveness of the HCA Human Resources Group by developing and deploying Business Intelligence applications. Responsibilities include designing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting the HRG Reporting Environment, with a focus on building BI solutions (Applications, Dashboards, Scorecards), performing database support and maintenance, and enabling a self-service reporting environment. The role ensures business decision-making is supported by efficient, actionable, trustworthy, and timely information.
This role will work a hybrid work schedule out of our Capitol View office in Nashville, TN.
Major Responsibilities
+ Utilize development tools such as Visual Studio Code, GitHub, Google Big Query, PowerBI, and Looker to build robust self-service reporting and BI solutions
+ Perform database and model maintenance to optimize data utility
+ Develop standard queries and measures to define business metrics
+ Write queries for advanced reporting requests and to improve automation of data requests
+ Develop protocols, best practices, and design guides for BI tools
+ Design, develop, optimize, maintain and support data models in conjunction with Data Management Team
+ Develop robust reporting to measure operational performance
+ Troubleshoot and support various BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary
+ Conduct routine analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improved performance
+ Consult with HR leaders to provide reporting and BI solutions
+ Work collaboratively with SMEs to develop requirements and enhancements for analytics products
+ Participate in and lead project teams to identify and deploy appropriate solutions
+ Maintain effective documentation on analytics and reporting solutions
+ Perform complex Ad-Hoc reporting, upon request
+ Strong skills in SQL, DAX, M, Python and a willingness to learn others
+ Strong computer skills and technical capabilities, including Microsoft Office, SAP Business Objects
+ Ability to translate business needs into meaningful reporting or BI solution
+ Custom application development, preferably dashboards
+ Excellent analytical and data management skills
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders from different functional areas
+ Broad knowledge of HR concepts and terminology

Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree required
+ 5+ years of experience in relevant work experience required
