    Special Education Teacher – Alternative Learning Environment

     

    Start Date: ASAP

     

    End Date: May 15, 2026

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

     

    Pay Rate: $45/hr

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join an Alternative Learning Environment classroom. This is a small, highly supported setting designed to meet the needs of students requiring individualized attention and behavioral support. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Special Education Certification and be passionate about creating a positive, structured learning environment.

     

    Key Details

     

    Caseload: 2–5 students (Grades 1, 2, and 6)

     

    Classroom Support: Full-time paraprofessional in the classroom

     

    Student Needs: One student exhibits elopement behaviors; additional behavioral support provided

     

    Instructional Focus: Teaching core subjects, implementing IEP goals, and maintaining compliance with documentation requirements

    Responsibilities

    Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals

     

    Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to student needs

     

    Complete and maintain IEP documentation and progress reports

     

    Collaborate with support staff and related service providers

     

    Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment

    Qualifications

    Valid Special Education Teacher Certification (required)

     

    Experience working with students with behavioral needs preferred

     

    Strong classroom management and communication skills
