    What We Need:

    The Lead Electrical Engineer will report to the Hardware Electrical Engineering Manager and serve as a key technical contributor in both sustaining our existing product portfolio and driving development of next-generation hardware solutions.

     

    In this role, you will define and document detailed electrical requirements, develop robust and efficient circuit designs—including wireless charging architectures—and ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and cost targets. You will collaborate closely with project and product management to translate functional needs into optimized, manufacturable hardware solutions.

     

    The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of embedded hardware design, and the ability to lead cross-functional efforts within an Agile environment. You’ll partner with core and extended teams to plan, execute, and deliver work assignments aligned with bi-weekly sprint objectives.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    + Conceptualize and define electrical system architecture for scanning and vision systems (processor family selection, board architecture, connectivity interfaces, etc.) to meet product line requirements and support flexibility and scalability for future products.

    + Collaborate with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering, as well as product and project management teams to ensure product requirements and progress are aligned with a defined plan.

    + Help define future product requirements as a member of the engineering design team.

    + Create schematics and layout using Altium Designer.

    + Ensure new and redesigned products pass all regulatory certifications for both US and international markets.

    + Develop test plans, and analyze & interpret data from tests performed on new and existing hardware to determine the best path forward to resolve technical issues.

    + Iterate product design through DFM cycles with internal team members and contract manufacturers.

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.

    + Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience preferred.

    + Strong analytical and working knowledge of digital electrical engineering, component selection, schematic capture, layout principles and practices, documentation control as well as debugging skills.

    + Experience driving technical decision making and providing technical leadership across the entire R&D group (including mechanical, electrical, firmware and manufacturing disciplines).

    + Excellent understanding of discrete circuit design and circuit theory.

    + Microcontroller system design experience. (I2C, SPI, etc.).

    + Expertise in portable/mobile devices, including low power wireless Qi charging systems (up to 15W).

    + Expert Altium Designer experience including schematic creation and PCB layout design.

    + Extensive experience operating lab test equipment to evaluate product performance of dev parts, sub-assemblies, and or complete systems.

    + Experience designing for and testing products to comply with FCC/CE/ conducted and radiated emissions as well as UL and international safety compliance standards.

    + Experience with integrating USB and BLE module connectivity into portable/mobile devices.

    + Firmware architecture and design experience is a plus.

    + Experience in Power Delivery Network (PDN) design at the PCB level using various DC-DC topologies.

    + Experience working in an Agile, cross functional team environment, working as a team to quickly find solutions to complex problems as a team.
