Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a motivated Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager to take the next step in their career! In this role, you’ll partner closely with a Project Manager to provide both technical and administrative leadership, helping to guide project teams to success. You’ll have the opportunity to support project management, lead team members, drive profitability, and build lasting client relationships—all while contributing to impactful design work.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include accountability to Project Manager in the areas of project management, financial performance, preparation of technical proposals and invoices, monitoring of project budgets, staff supervision, scheduling of key projects, and responsibility for the design tasks associated with civil engineering projects. The Assistant Project Manager will work within AutoCAD and alongside existing office staff and senior management to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
+ Assist in preparation of effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by supervisor.
+ Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
+ Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
+ Participate in or hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing the review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
+ Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisor's approval.
+ Ensure all project work is performed and completed in accordance with QA/QC standards, systems and procedures as designated for project.
+ Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meeting).
+ Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-established goal.
+ Assist with mentoring junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
+ Assist with the preparation for public hearings, meetings and any other presentations related to his/her projects.
+ Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
+ Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
+ May oversee the activities of assigned staff, including but not limited to timesheet review and approval, performance evaluation and daily supervision.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
+ Ideally, the applicant will possess 6+ years of related civil/site land development experience or relevant work experience.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) Certification preferred.
+ Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations.
+ Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, NPDES permitting, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and other site development related designs.
+ Demonstrated Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
+ Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
+ Ability to read, write, and understand English to comprehend written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Salary: $105,00 - $130,000 (depending on qualifications)
