    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our collaborative team in New York City. This role is essential in leading a survey crew for topographic, boundary, utility surveys, and construction layout. Great opportunity to work on large-scale projects throughout the city!

     

    You’ll be responsible for collecting and analyzing field data, preparing survey maps and CAD files, and contributing to a wide range of land development projects—from commercial and big box retail to residential and power centers. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a technologically advanced environment with significant room for career growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with project managers to define goals and provide daily updates on project progress.

    + Collect and process field data using advanced surveying equipment and software.

    + Interpret engineering plans, maps, aerial photographs, and other documentation to support project execution.

    + Perform construction layout, establish and recover survey control and monumentation, and gather utility and sewer invert data.

    + Document project areas through photo records and detailed notes.

    + Apply advanced surveying techniques and mathematics in field operations.

    + Maintain and coordinate repairs for survey equipment.

    + Support office tasks including CAD drafting, data downloads, deed/map research, and filing.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + High School Diploma required; coursework in Surveying or related field preferred.

    + 3–5+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or Crew Chief.

    + Experience with larger-scale projects is preferred.

    + Proficiency in Civil 3D and Carlson software.

    + Hands-on experience using Leica surveying equipment. (can train)

    + Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.

    + Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

    + Valid driver’s license in good standing.

    + OSHA 10 certification preferred.

    + Licensed Surveyor or actively pursuing licensure is a plus.

    + Expertise in topographic, boundary, utility surveys, construction layout, and GPS surveying.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage complex survey projects with precision and efficiency.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
