Job Title: Production Cook

Job Description

Join our dynamic back-of-house production team as a Production Cook. This hands-on role involves working with popcorn-making equipment and ovens. You will prepare bulk ingredients, operate large-scale cooking equipment, and maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

+ Load popcorn-making machines by lifting and dumping large ingredient containers.

+ Weigh and measure ingredients such as sugar and other flavoring products for recipes.

+ Work in a hot kitchen environment near ovens while wearing required safety gear.

+ Clean and sanitize ingredient bins, cooking equipment, and sinks after use.

+ Follow recipes and production instructions to ensure consistency.

+ Maintain a safe and organized work area in compliance with food safety standards.

+ Assist with bulk cooking processes to meet daily production goals.

Essential Skills

+ Prior cooking or food production experience in a manufacturing or bulk cooking environment.

+ Ability to lift and maneuver large ingredient containers safely.

+ Comfort working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

+ Strong attention to detail when weighing and measuring ingredients.

+ Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and teamwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience running or adjusting production/packaging machines.

+ Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability.

+ Comfortable with frequent changeovers and machine adjustments.

+ Attention to detail and accurate documentation.

+ Strong communication skills to report issues quickly.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

+ Preferred certifications: HACCP, SQF, PCQI.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a 1st shift schedule, Monday to Friday from 7AM to 3PM, with potential weekends and overtime as needed. This role requires working in a hot kitchen environment with necessary safety attire. There are currently three openings available.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
