Job Title: Bagging Machine Operator
Job Description
In this role, you will operate and adjust automated bagging machines that weigh, fill, and seal popcorn bags. You will handle frequent changeovers, machine adjustments, and quality checks to ensure every bag meets high standards. Responsibilities
+ Operate, monitor, and fine-tune automated bagging machines.
+ Perform frequent changeovers, ranging from 8–10 on a typical day to up to 50 during peak demand.
+ Make up to 50 machine adjustments per shift to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
+ Change bagging film and forming tables for different customer specifications.
+ Program machines for each production run (training provided).
+ Document machine performance, production counts, and any issues.
+ Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance when problems arise.
+ Support production for 8–10 customer orders per day, requiring flexibility and precision.
+ Help the team achieve production goals, currently at 5,500+ bags/day with a target of 8,000 bags/day.
Essential Skills
+ Prior experience operating or adjusting production/packaging machinery.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
+ Comfort with frequent changeovers and adapting to customer needs.
+ Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Clear communication skills to report issues and ensure smooth operations.
+ Reliability and teamwork in a high-output environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification.
+ SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification.
+ PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification.
+ GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) familiarity.
+ Experience with general labor, machine operating, packaging, and changeovers.

Work Environment
We have current openings for both the 1st Shift (Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3PM) and the 2nd Shift (Monday to Friday, 3PM to 11PM), with weekends/overtime as needed. Enjoy a comprehensive 3–4 weeks of hands-on training paired with a operator, where you will learn machine programming, film changes, forming table adjustments, and troubleshooting step by step.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
