Description We are looking for a skilled Data Entry Clerk to join our team on a short-term contract basis in Des Moines, Iowa. This position involves assisting with accounting clean-up tasks, focusing on historical remittances and resolving discrepancies in accounts receivable details. If you have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working with financial data, this role is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Review historical remittances to identify and correct errors in accounts receivable records.

• Manually verify receipts, invoices, and payment applications to ensure accurate reporting.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to misapplied funds or incorrect customer payments.

• Cross-reference system data with remittance records to pinpoint discrepancies.

• Update and maintain accurate accounting records in alignment with identified corrections.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline the reconciliation process.

• Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures during data entry tasks.

• Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and corrections.

• Utilize computer-based tools to enhance efficiency in reviewing and entering data.

• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information. Requirements • Minimum of one year of experience in data entry or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in numerical and computer-based data entry.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial records.

• Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies in payment applications.

• Familiarity with remittance processes and accounting principles.

• Solid typing skills and comfort with managing large volumes of data.

• Effective organizational and time management skills.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
