Description

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a Deputy Director to support executive leadership and oversee key operational, programmatic, and community initiatives. This is a senior-level role ideal for a strategic thinker who excels in managing people, programs, and partnerships.

The Deputy Director will work closely with the Executive Director to lead cross-departmental efforts, ensure operational excellence, and help advance the organization’s mission. You’ll be responsible for supervising department leaders, enhancing program effectiveness, and engaging with public and private partners to drive long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist the Executive Director in strategic planning, organizational management, and day-to-day operations

+ Provide leadership across program areas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs

+ Oversee development and administration of grants, budgets, and program funding

+ Cultivate relationships with local leaders, partners, and stakeholders

+ Represent the organization at board meetings, public events, and community forums

+ Manage internal processes to improve service delivery, reporting, and regulatory compliance

Requirements

What You Bring:

+ Bachelor’s degree required in finance, public administration or business preferred. Advanced degree in similar fields preferred.

+ 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in public-sector, housing, community development leadership

+ Strong background in program management, budgeting, and interdepartmental coordination

+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

+ Experience working with grant-funded programs and compliance is a plus

+ Ability to lead teams, solve problems independently, and foster collaboration

+ Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
